Time to study talents based on IQ and talent costEdit

Time to study (weeks) = talent cost * 40 / IQ

  • Example: Running (2), IQ15 = 5.3 weeks

Time to study languages based on IQEdit

Self study (must be around native speakers) Time to study (weeks) = 160 / IQ

  • Example: Dwarven (1), IQ12 = 13.3 weeks

Trainer/book (must be must be literate for book) Time to study (weeks) = 80 / IQ

  • Example: Dwarven (1), IQ12 = 6.7 weeks

Time to study spells based on IQ and trainer availabilityEdit

Apprentice (IQ12 and below only) - Spell level * 16/ IQ weeks

  • Example: Staff (8), IQ 12 = 10.7 weeks

Self study (must have spell book) - Spell level * 3 - IQ weeks

  • Example: Staff (8), IQ 12 = 12 weeks

Trainer- Spell level * 2 - IQ weeks

  • Example: Staff (8), IQ 12 = 4 weeks

Guild instruction (fee 30 gold * spell level) - 1 week

  • Example: Staff (8) = 1 week, 240 gold

Studying talents/trainersEdit

Talents broken down by training modes:

  • Self-taught: Talent can be learned by repeated use and practice, or is an innate ability.
  • Book: Talent can be learned from a book only if literate and a book is available.
  • Trainer: Talent can be learned from a trainer if a trainer is available.
  • Wizards learn talents at double cost, non-wizards learn spells at triple cost.
